Welcome to the second edition of the TrackingThePros’ LCS weekly report. Every week we will take a look at the current valuation for the LCS teams and the schedule they have ahead of them. Armed with this information, we will let you know of opportunities to increase your share value.
Looking back at week #7 of the LCS
Our previous report was spot on and went far beyond what even we expected. The major stars of this week are the players of Optic Gaming. In last week’s report, we explained how the Optic Gaming stock was incredibly undervalued, even though they were 5th place in the LCS team standings. Since then, Optic Gaming shares have spiked from $1,266 to $1,553 over the weekend. Their play was very strong, and it’s hard not to believe in their success moving forward.
Counter Logic Gaming and Clutch Gaming are two other teams we recommended in last weeks blog. Both teams played well over the weekend, however, Counter Logic Gaming’s results really stand out. Counter Logic Gaming won both matches against Flyquest and C9 last weekend, raising their share value by $264. This resulted in them being the 2nd highest earning potential bet of week #7. Clutch Gaming, however, failed to upset Team Liquid on Saturday, but they did manage to defeat Flyquest as predicted. In the end, Flyquest’s stock value is up slightly at +$21 per share.
What opportunities does week #8 of the LCS bring us?
The first opportunity we have this week is once again Optic Gaming. The team really impressed last weekend, and I’m willing to put my faith in them once again. Optic Gaming’s next match is against the first-place team in the league, Team Liquid on Saturday. Followed by a game against the Golden Guardians on Sunday.
Looking at the odds they have against Team Liquid, this might be the best investment of the week. Risking $20 per share, to earn a potential $180 per share is incredible with how close in skill these teams are right now. While Team Liquid is currently on a five-game win spree, I really believe Optic Gaming has a shot at beating them.
The second opportunity I see is actually the Golden Guardians. While their performance has been on and off the last several weeks, the team has upset potential against almost every team in the league. While I don’t think the Golden Guardians are likely to beat either of their opponents, 100 Thieves, and Optic Gaming it is still a best-of-one scenario. So anything can happen. The Golden Guardians basically have two chances this weekend to be the top earner in the league, with their stock value being relatively low compared to their potential in the LCS. At a potential profit of $148 per share against 100 Thieves.
It is important to note that 100 Thieves and the Golden Guardians are currently tied in the LCS standings at 6th place. The Golden Guardians’ second match of the week will be against Optic Gaming, of which the stock value will be at a similar point and will likely have around 130/70 odds.
Who do we avoid in the LCS
There are several teams I would absolutely avoid this week. The four teams with the highest stock value this week are not the right investments for me to recommend. Team Liquid, Cloud 9, Counter Logic Gaming and 100 Thieves all have a lot more to lose than they can gain this week once again. The only team you could consider investing in would be Cloud 9, who will be facing Team Liquid on Sunday. However, I would personally recommend against it as Cloud 9 has looked quite poor over the last few weeks. The chance they will be able to upset Team Liquid, and not lose to Flyquest seems quite unlikely.
100 Thieves is a slightly different example to the other teams in the league. I honestly believe their stock value is currently too high for what the team has accomplished over the season. At $1,627 a share, the team is just not worth your money. Their actual value should be somewhere around $1,500~ which I believe they will be headed soon.
These are our investments for this week, be sure to invest your money wisely for the upcoming week of LCS matches! See you next time, and enjoy some great League of Legends.
